Confirmed: Excessive Speed the Cause of Paul Walker Crash
Home > WOT > Confirmed: Excessive Speed the Cause of Paul Walker Crash The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has determined that excessive speed was the main cause of the single-car accident that claimed the life of “Fast and Furious” actor Paul Walker last November. After months of investigations, department collision experts have concluded the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT was travelling between 80 and 93 mph when it crashed into a power pole and several trees. Walker was a passenger in the Porsche, which was driven by long-time friend Roger Rodas. The crash occurred in Santa Clarita, Calif. in a business park where the posted speed limit was 45 mph. Investigators also ruled out the possibility of a street race or involvement of a second car. Toxicology reports show that neither Walker nor Rodas were under the influence of drugs or alcohol, while coroners have concluded that both men died of tramatic injuries, with Walker also suffering from “thermal injuries.”
