Our latest Big Test of compact sedans -- Dodge Dart GT vs. Honda Civic EX vs. Hyundai Elantra Limited vs. Kia Forte EX vs. Mazda3 i Touring vs. Toyota Corolla LE Eco Plus vs. Volkswagen Jetta SE -- is the second such comparo for the competitive class and will surely amass many thoughts and opinions in the comments section. Does it sell? It was the third best-selling compact in 2013, one of four models sold strictly as a sedan. 2014 year-to-date sales, through March: 65,185 2013 sales: 248,224 When will we see it next? Barring a substantial refresh in the near future, we’ll likely have to wait for the next generation, reportedly due for 2016. Ford Focus Where was it? Does it sell? The Outlander Sport is Mitsubishi’s runaway sales star (7450 units, YTD). 2014 year-to-date sales, through March: 4842 (includes Sportback, Evolution) 2013 sales: 19,451 (includes Sportback, Evolution) When will we see it next? At this point in time, we’re on pins and needles waiting for any new product information out of Mitsubishi. Nissan Sentra Where was it? Does it sell? It’s not exactly an impact player in the compact segment, but it remains a trusted option in the Snow Belt. 2014 year-to-date sales, through March: 20,234 (includes hatchback, WRX) 2013 sales: 76,825 (includes hatchback, WRX) When will we see it next? Hopefully the next time another compact car comparison rolls into town.
