As Arch Brown related the story in SIA #182, March 2001, the Cadillac Sixty Special, which had no less than Bill Mitchell as a father, seemed constantly caught among the churn of models in Cadillac’s lineup, sometimes the more prestigious option, sometimes the less. And then in 1958, it seemed Cadillac threw everything at it – trim, fins, air suspension, quads, you name it. But that didn’t seem to distract Brown from what appeared to be a solid and remarkable car at its core.
